Just over a year ago I was asked to help in our local elementary school with the volunteer art program. We call all of our volunteers Art Moms. I was super excited about it and decided that it was just what I needed to keep up on something that I have been passionate about since I was just a little one. So, that's it, I love art. I am not super at it, I am not a professor at it, I just love it and enjoy it. I especially love children's art.
Last year in an effort to help all of our Art Moms, I would send out a monthly email to share some ideas they could use in the classroom. I knew some of the Art Moms were a little intimidated with the idea of having to teach art to the kids, so I wanted to help as much as I could. Sending emails seemed to be the best idea I could come up with. Now, this year (thanks to my daughter's kindergarten teacher who keeps a blog and thus gave me the inspiration) I have decided to use the blog avenue to help those wonderful Art Mom volunteers. I don't know how good I am going to be at it, but I thought that this way I could put an idea up anytime I would like, and those mom's could check anytime they can. Hopefully, my goal of trying to help excite others about the wonders of art can be reached, even if it is just a little bit. Thanks for coming and sharing in my new experience of using a blog. Yay!
